When my kids were little, this was our favorite after school fruit dip and even though my kids are in their early 30’s, we are still making it! I’ve tweaked it along the way. Our original version was made with peanut butter and chocolate syrup but the more grown up version uses almond butter and dark chocolate. Combining just two simple ingredients plus a few seconds in the microwave, results in a warm, creamy dip that seems too decadent to be healthy. This dip is excellent with all fruit and as fall approaches, crisp, juicy apple and pear slices will become a seasonal favorite!
Warm and Creamy Chocolate Almond Butter Dip
Ingredients
2 tablespoons almond butter
2 ounces dark chocolate, broken into small pieces
Directions
Mix almond butter and chocolate pieces in a small microwave safe bowl. Microwave for 30 seconds. Stir until chocolate melts. Serve with fresh apple slices.
Note: You can sub any nut butter (it’s excellent with natural peanut butter) and use any combination of fresh fruit. This would make a delicious treat for your upcoming Halloween parties.
